The business traces its roots to 2015 with the launch of Dr Sicknote, an early telehealth service created by Australian GPs to solve a narrow but important access problem: helping patients obtain appropriate medical certificates online without the friction of an in-person visit.

By 2017, Dr Sicknote had evolved into Qoctor, marking the shift from a certificate-led service to a broader telehealth model.

Broader service expansion began from 2019, with the platform and operating model developing further over time across prescriptions, referrals, pathology, consultation pathways and the deeper clinical, regulatory and technical systems required for a larger healthcare business.

From there, the company built around a clear differentiating philosophy: telehealth should not be a compromise on quality. While others chased fast scripts, the business built a robust online medical service backed by a comprehensive technology stack and clinical governance strong enough to clear regulatory hurdles across AHPRA, TGA, ePrescriptions and mainstream telehealth operations.
